You know we belong together…

Ben and Kate thought about every meaningful little detail of their Humanist wedding at Burtonfields Hall, Stamford Bridge, just outside York. Their ceremony was a joyous celebration of love, complete with personal touches, the involvement of family and friends, and highly bespoke music!

Having grown up in Scotland, Kate was very familiar with Humanist wedding ceremonies and knew she wanted a personal ceremony that felt special for her, Ben and their guests. Together, we created something beautiful.

Watched by their guests, a bride walks down the aisle arm in arm with her father. Her groom is facing the camera, and has his hands to his eyes as he tries not to cry.

Kate’s emotional entrance.

Setting the tone with music

Kate walked down the aisle to Ludovico Einaudi’s I Giorni, a classical piano piece which builds in intensity and no doubt contributed to Ben’s teary moment! The newly weds walked out of the ceremony to the no less intense Always by Bon Jovi.

Later in the day, they shared their first dance to the theme tune from Home and Away, proving that you can really do whatever you damn well please at your wedding!

Ben and Kate also added to the meaningful nature of their ceremony by involving their sisters and friend in the readings. During the ceremony we heard The Art of Marriage by Wilfred A. Peterson, Edward Monkton’s A Lovely Love Story and a trio of readings on the theme of love from Robert Burns.

It was a warm summer’s day, and Ben’s ring needed a little encouragement!

It was an honour to be part of Ben and Kate’s wedding ceremony, and I was grateful to the team of wedding professionals beavering away in the background to make everything effortlessly beautiful.
