A woodland wedding in North Yorkshire

Craig + Bec threw caution to the wind, planning an outdoors woodland wedding at luxury glamping site and wedding venue, Camp Katur, near Bedale. Friends, pets and bagpipes brought the party to the forest!

A bride carries an umbrella and a bouquet through a forest. She is accompanied by bridesmaids in green dresses, one of whom is carrying a small dog. It is raining!

Bec and her bridal party walked to the wedding ceremony from their glamping accommodation!

The perfect wedding venue for nature lovers

Spending time in nature was very important to Bec’s family growing up, so she knew she wanted to get married somewhere that honoured this.

Craig + Bec chose to hold their wedding at Camp Katur. This meant that the wedding party could get ready together in their luxury glamping tents, and that they were all within walking distance of the woodland clearing where the wedding took place. It also meant that Craig + Bec’s pets could be part of the wedding.

We might have had a little bit of rain before the ceremony, but as the bride arrived the weather improved!

Bec walked down the aisle to Tenerife Sea by Ed Sheeran, played on acoustic guitar by Beat Street. Rodney the dog was very excited to see his people reunited, and played a key role in the ring exchange as a ring bearer.

Scots and birds…

The wedding had lots of Scottish nods to honour Craig’s Edinburgh roots. As well as plenty of tartan for the groomsmen, we included a handfasting ceremony, and the couple left the ceremony to bagpipes!
Bec is self-confessed bird nerd: Craig proposed on a birdwatching trip, and her table names were themed around bird names - so I was very happy to have a chance to wear my magpie necklace!

Bec was fortunate to have a cake-maker as a friend, in the form of Sammi from Cake and Coe, who made this beautiful cake decorated with real flowers. Looks delicious!
