A colourful, intentional celebrant wedding in Halifax
Lauren + George gathered all their loved ones to celebrate their wedding in their own unique, colourful style at The Arches Dean Clough.

Lauren + George met at art college in Edinburgh, so I knew that this wedding ceremony would be colourful and visually stunning. They also wanted the ceremony to reflect who they were as a couple, and to share their journey with their loved ones.
Lauren walked down the aisle to Northern Sky, a Nick Drake song they listened to lots when they first got together.
Lauren’s bridesmaids wore brightly coloured mismatched dresses in gorgeous jewel tones. I was very pleased to be able to wear my most colourful flowery dress - almost matching George’s tie!
Lauren + George looked so relaxed as I shared their love story, a winding tale with lots of warm laughter.
Personal wedding touches
Their friend Harry gave a beautiful reading, Pablo Neruda’s ‘I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz’.
Lauren and George also chose to use poetry for their personal wedding vows, each choosing a meaningful poem. This is a less common but extremely emotive way of making your wedding vows super-personal, something to consider if you don;t want to write your own wedding vows!!
George read Elizabeth Browning’s ‘Friendship’ and Lauren chose Roy Croft’s ‘I love you’.
These words hit differently when they have been chosen by the couple, and there were a few teary eyes among their wedding guests!
A classic ring exchange and a powerful newlyweds aisle walk
Lauren + George happily exchanged their wedding rings before we wished them well for the future. The strode down the aisle to an absolute bop, The Supremes’ Stoned Love, pausing for a powerful aisle kiss! I love it when couples choose to kiss walking down the aisle as it extends their wedding ceremony that little bit longer, gives their guests something to cheer for oh and results in amazing photos!
The Arches, Dean Clough suppliers dream team
Dean Clough was a perfect space for Lauren + George, balancing a blank canvas for them to make their own with plenty of Halifax heritage in the industrial building. The team were so welcoming and friendly, and I’m very honoured that they have added me to their list of recommended suppliers.

“Rachael was just the dream in helping us craft our wedding ceremony. From our first conversation, she was kind, patient and encouraging - not an easy thing to do with total strangers! - which immediately put us at ease.
Many guests told us how moved they were by the ceremony. We are so grateful that our story, feelings and relationship were communicated in such a special way.
If you're wondering if you should book Rachael for your wedding day, do it!!”
