A simple garden vow renewal

With barely two months to go until her 27th wedding anniversary, Jo got in touch asking if I could create a vow renewal ceremony on the 21st June, the day that lockdown restrictions were due to ease. I said I could, but I thought she should inform her husband first!

With Colin in on the secret, I worked quickly to get to know the couple, visiting them in their garden near Thirsk. As this garden was also the venue for their vow renewal, I enjoyed looking around and scouting out the best spot for the ceremony.

As Jo and Colin’s first wedding ceremony took place on Pineapple Beach in Antigua, there were some little pineapple references throughout the day - with pineapple decorations in the drinks tent and pineapple patterned shirts for the groom!

I loved chatting to Jo and Colin’s friends and family before and after the vow renewal ceremony, putting faces to the names in their stories. I even met the friend who had brought them together by asking for the night off!

What a perfect way to mark a wedding anniversary!
